Construction Update | Springing Ahead at Newagen

After months of planning, construction commenced late Fall 2013 and the feverish pace to complete projects has continued. With opening on May 16 the finishing touches are underway and the punch list is, well… being punched. A visit to the Inn would reveal a hardworking group of carpenters and contractors under the supervision of Paul Golden, Facility Manager at Newagen, however behind the scenes owners Scott and Corinne Larson along with Atlanta-based interior designer Jessie LaFalce provide inspiration and guidance for the projects. Over the last 2 years nearly every square foot of Newagen Seaside Inn has been touched to include guestrooms, common area, Pine Room and event space. Sub-contractors have been engaged in upgrading electrical, plumbing and adding air conditioning to common areas and guestrooms. In addition to inside upgrades, the grounds will be receiving a facelift with the addition of beds, stonework and patios from Heritage Landscaping

Scott and Corinne Larson purchased the Inn in 2000 after falling in love with its historic charms. “We know we are stewards not just of a tremendous view or a grand old resort, but of a tradition,” Scott explains. “A tradition of authentic Maine hospitality. When we build a new cottage or add a new event or put a new dish on the menu, we always make sure it is true to that tradition.”

“Our guests trust us with their precious free time and their precious memories,” adds Corinne. “Like the generations of owners before us, our family is committed to keeping that trust.”
