SOUTHPORT, MAINE (April 11, 2014)—The Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse announced that it has launched its website as it moves one step closer to its grand opening this summer.
For the first time in history, the Cuckolds—a pair of granite islands off the coast of Boothbay Harbor, will be open to guests for overnight stays, island tours, and other education and recreation activities. The Inn is located inside the 19th century lighthouse, which a group of committed local citizens, the Cuckolds Council, rescued from demolition and restored over the last decade.
“The website launch marks an important milestone that brings us one step closer to making this magnificent property accessible to the public,” said Janet Reingold, Founder and Vice President of the non-profit, Cuckolds Council, which owns and manages the island. “Visitors to the website will get a glimpse of the luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views the Inn offers, and learn about the important role the light station played in the history of our community.”
The website, http://innatcuckoldslighthouse.com, features images of the Inn’s stunning 360-degree ocean views, virtual tours of the two guest suites and common areas, and online reservation inquiries. The site also shares the story of the Cuckolds, which is integral to the rich maritime history of the Boothbay region, as well as information about the lighthouse restoration, the Resident Light Keepers, area attractions, and more.
The Inn will be open for overnight guests beginning June 27, 2014. Reservation inquiries are now being accepted via the website or by calling (855) 212-5252.
