We knew we wanted to get married on the coast of Maine, and since many of our guests had never visited the state before, we were looking for a venue that gave our guests a taste of quintessential Maine, while simultaneously allowing them to make a mini-vacation out of their trip. We stumbled upon the Newagen Seaside Inn and instantly knew it was the place for us.  

We had an absolutely amazing weekend! We planned a lot of activities throughout the weekend for our guests, so they could really experience the amazing location. On Thursday, we planned a sunset harbor cruise and a meet-up at a bar downtown. On Friday, we planned a golf tournament and then invited guests to join us for a lobster bake and welcome party at Newagen. We absolutely loved the fact that we were able to spend so much time throughout the weekend with our guests – the on-site accommodations and opportunities to host additional events made it so easy! We expected our out-of-town guests to attend all of the events, but we were happily surprised at how many Mainers also made a long weekend out of our wedding. The most surprising activity that many of our guests did during the weekend was visit the alpacas at the farm across the street – it was unexpected, but is certainly a hilarious memory.

We stayed in the Seahorse Cottage from Thursday-Monday (our wedding was on Saturday). We didn’t go on our honeymoon immediately after the wedding, so we loved actually having some down time to enjoy the property. We were so thrilled with our decision to extend our stay after the wedding. The Seahorse Cottage is absolutely gorgeous – from the amenities, to the view and the fact that we didn’t have to travel immediately after our wedding made it the perfect mini-moon!

Although Ashley and her family are from Maine, we live in Seattle, so planned our wedding from across the country. Sandy Timberlake, our wedding coordinator, made sure every detail was perfect. We relied on Sandy tremendously throughout the year and the actual weekend. The Newagen staff made us feel right at home and we received so many compliments from our guests on how wonderful all of the staff were. They certainly went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met, not just for us, but also for our guests! If we had a do-over, we would 100% have our wedding at Newagen Seaside Inn. We highly recommend it!  

We can’t wait to celebrate our future anniversaries at Newagen!
