Kate + Mike

Sep 21, 2019

We both grew up in Connecticut, and first met in middle school as classmates in 7th grade Spanish class. By early high school we were best friends. During high school and college, I would host Mike and other friends at my family’s cottage on John’s Bay in Pemaquid, Maine. I loved showing off the unique beauty of Maine’s midcoast.

After several years of friendship, Mike and I began dating in 2014 and shortly after moved to San Francisco to explore the west coast. Despite the distance, we frequently returned to Maine for summer visits. We were engaged in 2018 on a beach beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, and knew almost immediately we wanted to tie the knot near my family home in Maine. We visited several venues in the Bristol and Southport area, but once we toured Newagen Seaside Inn, we stopped looking.

Newagen is Maine exemplified. The seaside view, the brick oven lobster bake for the rehearsal dinner, the Monarch butterflies canvassing the flower beds, the vintage game room for the wedding after party — it was all too good to be true. We could not have dreamed of a better spot to celebrate our wedding and set the foundation for our marriage.
