Ryan and I met about ten years ago at Saint Anselm College; when Ryan proposed December 14, 2018 we could not wait to tie the knot.
Ryan and I fell in love with Newagen Seaside Inn when we came to visit in February; so naturally we were blown away by Newagen come the summer season. After planning for a big Irish wedding in 2020, and ultimately cancelling the whole thing, we were blessed to find such a perfect venue here in Maine on short-notice. Our wedding coordinator, Maura, was a god-send from the beginning of the process; she was truly amazing and so helpful in making it possible for us to pull everything together in just six months.
When our wedding finally arrived, we received the warmest welcome from Abby, General Manager – who truly made us feel as though we were the only people in the entire world and that we had absolutely nothing to worry about. Newagen provided an unparalleled setting for a weekend filled with love, laughter, and plenty of dancing. It was so incredibly fun to have our closest family and friends all on the same property for two nights – it made for the ultimate wedding weekend. Everyone could not get over the staff, the location and the amazing home that Newagen provided for the weekend. Newagen provided us with a quintessential Maine wedding weekend.
On Friday night we hosted a lobster bake out on the lawn and enjoyed the breathtaking ocean views and sea breezes. Everyone raved about the traditional Maine lobster bake – truly a rehearsal dinner like no other! Later that evening we moved to The Pub for welcome drinks, providing us with the perfect opportunity to welcome our guests!
Saturday was nothing short of perfect. It was an unusually rainy July, but the sun beamed the entire day on July 31st. The Seahorse Cottage location is unbeatable, and provided the perfect spot for the bridesmaids to get ready. It was also SO amazing to have the groom and groomsmen just up the hill, allowing for our bridesmaids and groomsmen to jaunt back and forth for the various things that we forgot for photos, and then needed to give back- AKA the rings!
After our church ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace in downtown Boothbay Harbor, Newagen really provided the perfect backdrop for photos; there so many beautiful locations to choose from. Cocktail hour took place on the lower lawn, our guests are still gushing over the appetizers.
The Cape Harbor Room provided the perfect location for the reception. The sunlight made the room warm and incredibly well lit. The staff made my vision come to life, arranging our centerpieces and signs perfectly. I walked in and was completely blown away by the attention to detail. Sandy was by our side throughout the entire day to ensure everything went smoothly and that we actually ate – the dinner was incredible. Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious everything was, and we cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism and care!
We then danced the night away and were able to enjoy such a fun afterparty in the Pine Room – a vintage game room with a candlepin bowling alley! It was SO fun to be able to cap the night off with bowling, pool, and late night snacks.
By the time Sunday came around, all of the staff really felt like family. Sandy arrived at Seahorse Cottage with our cards and gifts that she had locked up for us the night before – I started calling her my fairy godmother. We rounded out the most perfect wedding weekend by lounging at the pool and enjoying delicious food from The Pub.
I can not say enough about Newagen Seaside Inn. When it’s your wedding weekend the staff does an incredible job to take care of everything and everyone. Ryan and I could not have been happier with our wedding. Every last detail was taken care of and truly made for the best wedding weekend ever!
