– Book a seat on Balmy Days Cruises to Monhegan Island. This Maine island features miles of hiking trails, phenomenal local shops, and a historic lighthouse.
– The town of Boothbay Harbor is only a 15-minute drive from the resort. Give yourself plenty of time to explore one of the most popular spots in the area, known for incredible shopping and delicious waterfront restaurants.
– The almost hour-long drive to Bristol is worth it once you discover all there is to do and see there. Located on the Pemaquid Peninsula, several historical landmarks are found here, like the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Fort William Henry.
– Another quaint town to visit is Edgecomb. In addition to visiting the Fort Edgecomb Historic Site, travelers can stop by Glidden Point Oyster Farms, when open, to go on a tour and learn about oysters and the farming process.
– Just up the road from Southport is the town of Wiscasset. This thriving community is home to a historic jail from 1812, the Sortwell Forest, and the Morris Farm.
