About the Shop
The Dirty Bird Pottery story begins with the owner, Julie Moore, and her dream of opening her own ceramics studio. Moore is a self-taught craftsman who focuses on creating beautiful and functional pots for home and garden use. All of her work is thrown on a potter’s wheel at her two studios: One in King George, Virginia, and one in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Each piece she creates is lovingly fired in an electric kiln that reaches over 2,000 degrees. Moore’s stoneware creations are meant for daily use. They’re all food, dishwasher, and microwave-safe!
