A Visitor’s Guide to Dirty Bird Pottery

About the Shop

The Dirty Bird Pottery story begins with the owner, Julie Moore, and her dream of opening her own ceramics studio. Moore is a self-taught craftsman who focuses on creating beautiful and functional pots for home and garden use. All of her work is thrown on a potter’s wheel at her two studios: One in King George, Virginia, and one in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Each piece she creates is lovingly fired in an electric kiln that reaches over 2,000 degrees. Moore’s stoneware creations are meant for daily use. They’re all food, dishwasher, and microwave-safe!

Find the Boothbay Harbor at 4 Townsend Avenue. It’s open during the summer between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Purchase an Original Piece of Pottery

For those who need the perfect souvenir during their travels, an original piece from this studio is a fantastic choice. Guests may purchase many of the most popular pieces online, but there are even more ceramic gems in the brick-and-mortar store. Moore offers traditional pots perfect for cooking and serving as well as miscellaneous products like sponge holders, hummingbird feeders, fruit fly traps, and more!
