Harbor Sailing Adventures
Sailing is one of the quintessential things to do in Boothbay Harbor. Choose between a sightseeing sail, a voyage on Boothbay Harbor’s largest sailboat, or a unique lobster-fishing trip. Schooner Eastwind is the area’s premier sailing voyage. The Schooner Eastwind is the largest schooner in Boothbay Harbor, offering two-hour sightseeing sailing excursions. The Schooner Eastwind will guide your family or group on a journey through the naturally beautiful Maine coastline. Yes, there will be lighthouses on this guided sail, as well as possible porpoise sightings. You’ll discover remote isles and coves with breathtaking wildlife and hard-at-work lobstermen.
If you’re looking for a straightforward lighthouse and island tour, seek out the Balmy Days’ Bay Lady. The Bay Lady is a 75-minute sightseeing sailing adventure to the area’s most-traveled attractions including Ram Island Light, Burnt Island Lighthouse, Mouse Island, Southport Island, and Capitol Island. The Bay Lady offers a more intimate experience in comparison to the Schooner Eastwind, and you’ll even sail right past our beautiful resort!
Guided Kayak Tours
Boothbay Harbor’s Tidal Transit Kayak Company has three elite kayak tours, only minutes from Newagen Seaside Inn. Choose between a morning harbor tour, an afternoon wildlife tour, and a sunset tour. You cannot go wrong with any of these offerings.
The harbor tour launches past Boothbay Harbor’s moorings to the Burnt Island Lighthouse, the second oldest standing lighthouse in Maine. Paddle past fleets of lobster boats and explore the many inlets of Southport Island. The wildlife tour (our recommendation) is a four-hour expedition to the area’s best islands. Ram Island, in particular, is a stunning natural marvel. These waters have one of the most active seal colonies in coastal Maine. You’ll also spot herons, eagles, and osprey. Locals know that sunsets in Maine are magical and a must see. Witness stunning natural colors at dusk over Southport Island and watch the porpoises come to life at dusk with a three-hour sunset tour.
Things to Do in Boothbay Harbor
As the temperature gradually drops and the leaves begin to change color, our seaside haven becomes a breathtaking blend of pine green, ocean blue, fire orange, dandelion yellow, and crimson. Southport Island and Boothbay Harbor have some of Maine’s best hiking trails, scenic drives, state parks, and wedding spots. Book an autumn vacation with Newagen Seaside Inn and discover an unimaginative level of serenity in the State of Unwind!
